Auditions are nerve wracking at the best of times the most important part is BE PREPARED.
1. Know your song.
2. Edit your song. You don’t want the best part that’s going to show what your voice can do to be at the end.
3. Pick a song your comfy with one that suits your voice many an audition has been lost due to bad song choice and the person auditioning trying too hard to impress.
4. Enquire if your audition is with or without music.
5. If your used to singing with a backing track get used to singing without it. With no music to keep them in key some singers lose their pitch.
6. At some auditions you will be asked “what key do you sing the song in” Find this out before hand write the key on back of your song sheet/music score.
7. If you take your song sheet in music score format a piano may accompany you they will need your music to read from take a copy for yourself once you hand it over you may need to read your words from it.
8. In all reality once you get to audition stage you shouldn’t need your words But in case nerves kick in and you are allowed TAKE THEM.

QUICK TIP... When your on stage does your nerves get the better of you, here's a tip. Just above your audiences heads focus on three points in the room one to the left of your audiance one to the middle and one to the right, casually scan between these points. To the audiance it looks like your keeping eye contact with them connecting with the audiance making you feel more relaxed.
