At the time of booking your lesson you'll be asked to prepare two songs to sing at your first lesson.  You will also be asked to KEEP THEM EASY and sing what you feel is comfortable to you.  At the start of your lesson we will use a piano go through some light vocal exercises.  This will warm your vocal chords in preparation for your first song.  You will be nervous, this is normal and allowances will allow for this, I'll sing with you untill you get more confident. 

In the early years of teaching I used backing tracks but the problem was that no matter how well the pupil knew the song because there was no singer to guide them they would either come in at the wrong place or miss their cue altogether.  I changed to using karaoke songs about 8 years ago. The good thing about karaoke is you see where to come in and it guides you as you sing along. There's over 4,000 songs to chose from. 

For pupils that want to get in front of an audiance we perform two charity shows a year, a summer show and a Christmas show.  At the shows pupils sing two songs each, we work on your songs then we record you on a 16 track digital recorder along with your music, and we add them on to a CD with all the other singers involved in the show. Tickets are sold to family and friends, and we sell the CD's at the show.  Only pupils that are at a level for taking part in the shows are asked to take part even then it is the pupils choice if they want to take part.

In your lesson we can also work on a couple of songs then be put onto Cd ...How Cools That...

All lessons last 30 minutes and the majority of pupils attend their lessons weekly, others attend every second week, others prefer an hour every two weeks.  Whatever suits your schedule, a time can be arranged for your lesson. Lessons are charged at new deal price £11:50 per half hour.
